Philip Edwards is a 25 year old, wildlife cameraman and award-winning photographer based in the picturesque rolling hills of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire, the United Kingdom. Philip is a fully BBC trained Canon CN20 50-1000mm long lens camera operator, with over 5 years of experience working for the BBC Natural History Unit across their acclaimed and BAFTA award-winning Watches productions.
From a young age Philip has always had an insatiable passion for wildlife, nature and the environment having grown up surrounded by wildlife and animals in the charming countryside of the Cotswolds. This cumulated in 2020 when Philip graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Marine & Natural History Photography with First Class Honours from Falmouth University. During the final week of finishing his degree, Philip immediately began working for the BBC Natural History Unit, helping to create a challenging and unique BAFTA award-winning Springwatch to the nation in the midsts of the Covid-19 pandemic. 5 years later Philip has now worked on 12 Watches series, and over 150 programmes as a wildlife camera operator and a valued member of the digital and remote wildlife camera teams.

He also has experience with run and gun style shoots on gimbals as well as working on live broadcasts with presenters and onscreen talent.
Philip is also an award-winning photographer. He is the official BBC press photographer for the Watches, working closely each series with the presenters Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan, Iolo Williams, Hannah Stitfall and Megan McCubbin to create promotional material for use across the BBC and partner organisations. As a wildlife photographer Philip has had his work exhibited across the United Kingdom including at the Natural History Museum in London and Birdfair at Rutland. He has also been published in the press and by the likes of BBC Wildlife Magazine and has received awards and recognition from the British Wildlife Photography Awards, Bird Photographer of the Year and Wild Film Fest.
